Going to a funeral, for many, is a sobering experience. For others, a chance to have a few drinks with the family the when you get together after the visit to the grave. For a chosen few, a moment to reflect on the fact that people are dead a lot longer than they are alive. Some ponder eternity, and are drawn to seek Peace with their Maker. Others stick their heads back in the sand. I'm a lawyer, not a preacher. Do as you will to make arrangements for the Hereafter, but AT LEAST make arrangements while here to put your affairs in order. You owe it to yourself and your family. Don't be like Billy, who I gave a ride to Friday of last week. His last words to his wife were "Remind me, I've got to sit down with Alex and do a will." That Sunday Carol called. Billy had died at 5:00 pm; his pension unprotected, his trailer without clear title to pass on, and other complications.
